As a singer, one of the most important things is to take care of your voice. Sometimes I feel like I get a cold every other week and my throat is killing me.

Cure A Sore Throat
I will feel like I can’t swallow, laugh, talk, eat, drink or open my mouth. Of course, this is super tough for someone like me who LOVES to talk.
Like most of us nowadays, I go to the internet or my vocal instructor for advice. The advice I most often find is to see a doctor, buy medicine, or eat something really nasty, etc.
So, my second choice then is to find some things around my house to cure my sore throat.
1. Marshmallows
I thought this one was very odd and was just a way for me to eat marshmallows, but I ate a few chilled marshmallows and my throat felt like it was getting better by the minute.
The honest truth though is it only last a few hours. The gelatin will once wash away (if that makes sense).
Instructions:
Put a few marshmallows in the refrigerator for 1- 2 hours. Then eat the marshmallows; the gelatin soothes a sore throat.
2. Honey Tea
I personally don’t like tea so I replace my tea with water, but I still love this recipe. This is also a simple recipe to prepare in the evening and heat up in the morning.
Instructions:
Add 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of lemon juice and a dash of cinnamon to a cup of hot tea or water. Drink the beverage and your sore throat will be soothed in minutes.
3. Gargle
It’s super crazy how simple this “remedy” is. A replacement for lemon water is salt water. Personally, I dislike salt water, but either one can help cure a sore throat quickly.
Instructions:
Add the desired amount of lemon juice to room temperature water. Gargle over a sink for at least a minute, then spit out.
4. Steam Tent
The chances of you having a cold with a sore throat are very probable. When you have a cold your whole immune system is “clogged.” One way to fix that is to be in a steamed room or area to unclog your immune system.
Instructions:
Fill a sink with hot water then place your head over the water with a towel overhead to capture the steam.
Note: If this feels uncomfortable. Take a hot shower and the steam will almost automatically relive your sore throat.
5. Hydrate
This may be a no-brainer but it’s the best way to cure a sore throat. When you don’t drink enough water, your throat will begin to be dry and irritated which will lead to soreness.
Instructions:
DRINK WATER!!!
